Weekend of Hockey

Both my boys had hockey all weekend. Nick, the oldest, had a tournament all weekend(his mother took him) and Jon had a day long Jamboree(I took him). Nick lost all three games but managed to score a goal and Jon won 2 of the three games and also managed to score a goal. Those are my little Gretzkys and I don't care if they lose, as long as their having fun. When the fun stops is when hockey stops.

Hopefully the ex-wife took some pictures of Nick then I'll post those here as well

Good for you! That encapsulates it all in re: our kids in sports. No need for cutthroat competition when you are just a kid.

thank you....a lot of parents seems to lose site of this.....yea..it sucks when they lose. But I look for a smile on my boys faces. When the smile goes, so does hockey.

Hopefully they won't get caught up in the non-fun part that other parents and even the coaches may lay down. Winning isn't as important as how you play the game. You can't lose if YOUR having fun even if the game it self is a wash.

at my youngest boys age Im not too worried...my oldest Nick, at eleven he gets pretty competitive and it's hard when they lose
